About
About GearTube
A dated, sourced index of the gear tech YouTubers and podcasters actually use.
Search “what camera does [creator] use” and you mostly get guesses, old lists and pages that copy each other. GearTube only lists gear we can point to: each item links to the video, description, on-camera moment or article it came from, with the date it was published.
How we source gear
- First-party video: named in the creator’s own video or its description.
- On-camera: said or shown on camera; we link to the timestamp where we can.
- Article: from a published interview, studio tour or gear profile, cited with its date.
- Reported: widely reported but we haven’t confirmed the exact episode yet; shown as “date not confirmed” and never used to date a setup.
Setups change, so dates matter. When a newer source replaces an item, we move it to “Previously used” instead of deleting it. Items from sponsored videos are flagged “sponsored”.
Coverage
50 creators and shows, 311 distinct products, 408 sourced items. We add new setup videos every week and send what changed in Setup Changes, a short Friday email.

Setup Changes
A short email each Friday listing which creators changed their gear that week. Nothing else.
